Viva is the beginning of a line of furniture pieces and objects that seek to present our vision of Mexican and Latin American design on a global scale.
Mexican culture and most Latin American countries are rich with masterful artisans and craftsmen of great skill and talent, capable of creating objects of outstanding beauty and rich cultural value. With this in mind, Viva merges artistry and craftsmanship with modern technology to create furniture pieces with a high human factor, which we believe translates into a more human and emotional object, a soul.
Viva furniture pieces are made from computer-machined parts for precise cutting and easy assembly that ultimately enable Viva a DIY design. The Viva stool seat is composed of four wooden triangular pieces carefully hand knitted by artisans.
Made using natural materials such as wood, and leather, Viva can be customized and ordered from a selection of natural wood veneers that keep its honest design while providing a highly unique and personalized look.
The viva desk is our newest addition to the Viva collection as we strive to present our vision for modern Latin-American furniture and design. The Viva desk expands on the Viva concept by introducing a new material, OSB, an industrial wood agglomerate most commonly used for industrial packaging. OSB is transformed and re-used in this expansion of the Viva line to decrease each objects environmental footprint and providing a unique and distinct look.
As with the Viva stool and table, the Viva desk merges computerized manufacturing with artisanal intervention. Computer cut OSB pieces, are given a natural OSB matte finish and black Matte finish. A hand knitted sued string intertwines the upper and lower centerpieces acting not only as a decorative element but to create a segmented shelve for books, magazines and notebook storage. The knitted pattern forms both at the top and underside of the desk providing Viva’s unique attitude and soul. The Viva desk materializes our view of a complete design where each detail and element holds an aesthetic but also functional purpose.
