La Casa de Liderazgo Humanista
About the project

The Concept

La Casa de Liderazgo Humanista is Eugenio Garza Sada’s former home, one of Mexico’s most relevant leaders and icons, whose values, principles and legacy continue to inspire and impact new generations of leaders, entrepreneurs and philanthropists today. Originally built in the 1920’s La Casa has undergone several expansion stages as Eugenio Garza Sada and his family lived there. Today La Casa houses an extensive archive of objects, notes, books and documents that tell the stories, achievements and social undertakings of not only Eugenio as a person and family man but also of other humanist leaders of his generation that helped shape the city of Monterrey introducing community centered entrepreneurial practices that spread across Mexico. We are honored to be part of this important project collaborating with La Casa’s team to design the permanent exhibitions, layout and experience that has turned La Casa into a museum. Unlike other museums were value lies within their material collection of artifacts, La Casa’s true treasure and value resides within its visitors. The space and overall experience takes audiences as the focal point inviting them to question and reflect on their roles within their communities as agents of change for good. Blending technology and mid-century inspired design, our exhibition design integrates dynamic, interactive and exciting content seamlessly with the home’s interior architecture. Recreating its unique spaces, where interactive screens and dynamic content pose as framed paintings and desks come to life through projection mapping interventions. We expanded on La Casa’s visual identity by generating iconography, signage, stationary, museum programs and other touch-points that would unify the experience. Part of our design solution involves the addition of a ticket office, plaza and sculptural wall that pays homage to the values and principles presented within the museum as well as museum donors and supporters.

Flip
About the project

The Concept

There is always a brighter side, a lesson to be learned, something that will make us grow, and come back stronger. We designed this candle holder that you can flip (to double as an incense holder) during 2020 in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, as a result of several different feelings, but mostly as a reflection of three specific ideas: hope, peace and simplicity. The first, hope, what keeps us going in difficult times, is portrayed by the fire and light from a candle. The second, peace and tranquility to keep us centered, balanced and connected is created and represented through an incense. Finallly, simplicity, integrates both concepts through a simple object, reminding us that big things can come from small places. Created from a single piece of wood and hand finished, our Flip - candle and incense holder comes in Tzalam, Pine wood and Parota. Its pebble inspired design also allows for stack-ability allowing users to create their own Flip compositions.

Pico Norte
About the project

The Concept

Pico Norte - is Monterrey’s new climbing gym, home to the city’s fast increasing community of climbers. Focusing on both older and younger generations, Pico Norte appeals to anyone interested in the sport and having a healthy lifestyle. With newcomers in mind, the gym’s brand language presents the sport in a friendly, kind and upbeat light, reflecting the warm and welcoming attitude of its community. Much more than a gym, Pico Norte was designed with creating a place climbers and athletes could call their second home. From a gym area and teaching space to a cafe, lounge and terrace, Pico Norte’s interior design stems from an in-depth look at the user’s lifestyle and needs. Branding and interior design elements mix club, educational and school related motifs like crests and infographics with a bright and diverse color palette. Lattice, rope and other warm materials contrast with gym equipment and bold spaces for a unique look that alludes to its sense of community and location.

Desko
About the project

The Concept

Desko is a smart and modular workspace solution for the modern and constantly evolving office. Devised with a holistic approach considering office furniture commercialization, manufacturing, functionality, user needs, transportation and storage, Desko offers a highly flexible system at a low cost. We created a low SKU based design, meaning few parts require minimum storage and inventory, providing rapid delivery without sacrificing flexibility but instead allowing an increasing number of possible “desking” solutions. A large number of workspace configurations can be created to accommodate and respond to small, medium and large office spaces while also providing a dynamic and evolving system that can adapt and grow with changing environments. An easy assembly design lets the Desko system be easily assembled and reconfigured as required without the need for tools and without compromising durability. The Desko “desking” system is based on the availability of 12 SKUs that enable the creation of 500+ workspace solutions that range from simple desks, to telemarketing solutions, “L” and “H” shapes to conference tables and virtually any shape.
