Stilo is a design and architecture magazine based in Monterrey serving as one of the few platforms for current and new designers to showcase their work. Monterrey is an industrial city in northern Mexico not commonly associated with design, yet strong and persevering initiatives like Stilo’s provide an oasis for this rapidly growing community.
Our Stilo Magazine rack draws from Stilo’s position, character and history playing on the idea of Stilo being a solid life-form on Monterrey’s design desert. The rack’s form itself is reminiscent of spherical cacti, particularly the Echinocactus native of Mexico’s central and northern regions. Its purpose adds on this analogy by placing reading as a plant of knowledge and inspiration.
Made solely out of laser cut pinewood, and hand finished the Stilo rack is complemented with our own concrete pot “La Morena” to highlight its industrial origin.
