After successfully developing the Behance-featured chocolate brand 'Gran Cruz,' our client approached us with a transformative vision: to rebrand as 'Emblema de Gloria.' As a deeply spiritual individual, our client shared how this name came to him during meditation, believing it to signify the future of his company and herald a new era of vision and artistry.
We seized this opportunity to refresh the brand's visual identity, while staying true to its core concept. We further emphasized the juxtaposition of colonial and pre-colonial Latin American elements through a revised color palette. Warm, diverse hues reflect the vibrant nature of Mesoamerican tribes, contrasting boldly with clean black-and-white typographic treatments that nod to the brand's industrial and European influences.
Inspired by the Aztec belief that chocolate is a 'food of the gods,' Emblema de Gloria presents chocolate as a coveted prize and a symbol of triumph and glory. Thus, the brands use of icons, visual elements, and metallic accents reminiscent of medals of honors and distinctions. The chocolate bar design and pattern used in the brand’s packaging both stem from the silhouette of a medal further emphasizing the product's value and symbolism.
